Puerto Princesa to relaunch campaign for subterranean river in N7W PDF Print E-mail

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, August 29 (PNA) –- The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park’s (PPSRNP) “U R A Wonder of Nature” campaign for the search for the New 7 Wonders of Nature will be relaunched in Metro Manila at One Esplanade, Mall of Asia Complex on August 31.

City Tourism Officer Rebecca Labit said the re-launching of the world famous underground river’s campaign was personally offered to Mayor Edward S. Hagedorn by none other than business tycoon Henry Sy of SM Group and chairman of SM Prime Holdings, the Philippines largest retailer and mall operator.

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Aug. 9 (PNA)-- City Information Officer Alroben Goh on Monday said President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III and US Ambassador Harry K. Thomas Jr. are expected to lead the turn-over ceremonies scheduled on August 16 four new patron gun boats (PGB) at the PNP-SBU headquarters in Barangay Sta. Lourdes, Puerto Princesa City.

The new patrol gun boats (PGB) complement the expanding force tasked to keep illegal activities off Puerto Princesa City’s waters.

And not a few took notice. There was Vice President-elect Jejomar C. Binay, arriving for his inauguration at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila's Rizal Park in a no-frills, no-smoke eJeepney, nicknamed B-Jeep.

CENRO vows to put a stop to wildlife trading in Puerto Princesa PDF Print E-mail
PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, July 2 (PNA) –- The City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) vowed to continue working hard to quell wildlife trading here, according to Rogelio Daquer, chief of the CENRO in Puerto Princesa.

Daquer said Mayor Edward S. Hagedorn has ordered strict monitoring and patrolling of areas that wildlife traders might be using as jump off points of their illegal trading from municipalities in southern and northern Palawan.

Puerto Princesa Underground River and Komodo National Park pushed as new 7 wonders PDF Print E-mail
ZAMBOANGA CITY, June 22 (PNA)--The Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-the Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) tourism cluster is strongly backing up the bid of the Puerto Princesa Underground River in Palawan and the Komodo National Park in Indonesia to be among the New Seven Wonders of Nature.

The Puerto Princesa Undergound River in Palawan and Komodo National Park in Indonesia are among the 28 finalists vying for a spot in the search for the world’s new seven wonders of nature, a campaign run by the New Seven Wonders Foundation in partnership with the United Nations (UN).

Binay to be guest of Puerto Princesa in 20th Pista Y Ang Cagueban celebration PDF Print E-mail
PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, June 15 (PNA) –- The city government and Mayor Edward S. Hagedorn have invited Vice President-elect Jejomar Binay to be their special guest in this year’s celebration of the 20th Pista Y Ang Cagueban (Feast of the Forest) in the Irawan Watershed, Barangay Irawan on June 26.

This was personally confirmed by Mayor Hagedorn during a radio interview Tuesday morning, saying that if the vice-president elect accepts, he and the re-elected and newly-elected members of the City Council will take oath in front of him in the Pista.
