Mayor Hagedorn testing e-tricyclePUERTO PRINCESA CITY, June 26 (PNA) -- Palawan's environmental advocacy has spawned another innovation: the use of electric tricycles (e-tricycles) to reduce air and noise pollution.

Mayor Edward Hagedorn said that a group of Korean businessmen expressed their willingness to manufacture environment-friendly and economical electric-powered “Trikebayan” in this city and supply them to the rest of the country.

Chinese gov’t willing to lend 500-M US dollar loan fund for Puerto’s infrastructure projects PDF Print E-mail

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, June 25 (PNA) -- Mayor Edward Hagedorn disclosed that the government of the People’s Republic of China is willing lend a financial loan package amounting to 500 million US dollars to finance various infrastructure projects in this city.

Hagedorn said the willingness of the Chinese government to fund projects through a loan agreement was disclosed by Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Song Tao during his recent visit here.

Ex-President Estrada to grace Puerto Princesa tree planting activity PDF Print E-mail

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, June 23 (PNA) -- Former President Joseph Estrada is expected to grace the city government’s annual tree planting and conservation, dubbed as “Pista Y Ang Kagueban” or “Feast of the Forest”, on June 28 to be held in Barangay Irawan this city.

Mayor Edward Hagedorn said he invited the former President to grace the “Pista Y Ang Kagueban”, a 18-year old tree planting activity intended to reforest and rehabilitate denuded areas in Barangay Irawan and other barangays in the city.

Germany’s Souquet lead winners in Puerto Princesa Cup Billiards opening (Sports) PDF Print E-mail

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, June 20 (PNA)-- Three double world champion Ralf Souquet defeated Oliver Villafuerte in a lopsided fight, 9-2 as the second leg of the Philippine Pool Tour unfolded Friday morning at the coliseum here.

Souquet, who hails from Germany, maintained his composure against Davao-born Villafuerte who committed more missed shots.

Puerto Princesa, Wuxi, China strengthen bilateral ties PDF Print E-mail

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, June 19 (PNA) -- The Puerto Princesa City government and the Wuxi municipal government of the People’s Republic of China recently affirmed their sisterhood relationship and thus strengthened and solidified the city's relationship with other neighboring Asian cities.

Recently, Puerto Princesa residents got a taste of Wuxi arts and cultural heritage during an exhibit held at the coliseum here.

Puerto Princesa's "underground river"PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, June 11 (PNA) -- Four famous tourist spots in the Philippines remain solid in the top 10 of the ongoing worldwide search for the New Seven Wonders of Nature.

Palawan’s Tubbataha Reef, which has been designated by the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a World Heritage Site, led the country's four nature entries.
