Palaro showcases RP culture -- Lapus (Sports) PDF Print E-mail

Secretary Jesli LapusMANILA, April 23 (PNA) -- Education Secretary Jesli Lapus said during the opening of Palarong Pambansa in Puerto Princesa that the value of the Palaro in the development of a holistic person as Mayor Edward Hagedorn, is the ‘adrenalin’ that further spurs the engine of growth of the city.

Addressing the crowd at the Ramon V. Mitra Memorial Complex, Lapus stressed that the Palaro, in molding the athlete to become a better person, is an avenue for the discovery of athletes, who“Who truly represent the admirable and respectable boys and girls and men and women in us,” Lapus added.

DA to develop Iwahig for massive rice farming PDF Print E-mail

Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap visited on Friday part of the 26,000 hectares occupied by the IPPF, located some 20 kilometers south of this city.

One is non-government organization Haribon-Palawan declaring its full support to PPSRNP, which houses the 8.2-kilometer “Underground River”, considered the world’s longest navigable underground river.

Wescom soldiers, Palawan cops provide maximum security for Palaro (Sports) PDF Print E-mail

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, April 17 (PNA) -- Military and police authorities will provide maximum security to more than 10,000 athletes, officials, and guests during the staging of the Palarong Pambansa at the 16-hectare Ramon V. Mitra, Jr. Sports Complex from April 20 to 26.

Western Command Information Officer Lt. Col. Jacinto de Vera told the Philippines News Agency (PNA) that soldiers assigned at Western’s different military units, namely; Marine Battalion Landing Team-9, Naval Forces West, Air Forces 570th Composite Tactical and Philippine Army.

Yap to inspect Iwahig prison rice farming PDF Print E-mail

Photo: Antonio GraceffoPUERTO PRINCESA CITY, April 17 (PNA) -- Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Arthur Yap will conduct an ocular inspection on the sprawling Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF) which is being developed for massive rice production to help the country in addressing reported rice shortage.

City Information Officer AlRoben Go said Yap will personally inspect the colony which has developed most of its 26,000 hectares for massive rice production.
