Calls mount for PPUR in the New7Wonders final voting phase PDF Print E-mail

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Nov. 7 (PNA) -- Four days before the final voting phase ends in the world search for the New 7 Wonders of Nature, its head of communications announced on Sunday night in an e-mail that the Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) World Heritage Site made it to the top 10 Finalists.

The inclusion of the PPUR in the 10 topmost "fascinating choices by the global voting community" was informed by New7Wonders Head of Communications Eamonn Fitzgerald in an e-mail sent on November 6.

MANILA, Oct. 21 (PNA) -- A record breaking event in the history of boxing happens this October 29 at the city coliseum of Puerto Princesa, as Mayor Edward Hagedorn hosts the 7 WBC INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE FIGHTS boxing event in parallel to his drive for the Puerto Princesa underground river to be included in the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

The underground river of Puerto Princesa has been declared as one of the Official Finalists to the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

DOT Calabarzon goes “full steam ahead” for PPUR as New 7 Wonders of Nature PDF Print E-mail

CALAMBA CITY, Oct. 12 (PNA) -– The country goes “full steam ahead” in its massive campaign spearheaded by President Benigno S. Aquino III through Proclamation No. 182 calling on all Filipinos here and abroad to vote for the Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) as the voting closes on November 10 in the worldwide search for the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

Department of Tourism (DOT) Southern Tagalog Regional Director Luella Jurilla said in Wednesday’s press conference here that the DOT, alongside national government agencies, local government units, tourism industry leaders and the private sectors, have intensified their campaign and advocacy towards strengthening public awareness in the domestic and international fronts.

Barangays lead text voting for PPUR’s inclusion in ‘7 Wonders’ on Sunday –-DILG PDF Print E-mail

MANILA, Oct. 8 (PNA) - The country's barangays will lead the synchronized text voting for the Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) in Palawan on Sunday, October 9, according to the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

More than 42,000 barangays are joining the synchronized text voting for the PPUR in its bid to be one of the "New 7 Wonders of Nature" during the Barangay Assembly Day on October 9, DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo said on Saturday.

Palawan underground river featured in Singapore festival PDF Print E-mail

MANILA, Oct. 3 (PNA) -- The Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) in Palawan, the Philippines' bet for the "New Seven Wonders of the World," was featured on World Parks Day in Singapore last week.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said the PPUR was showcased at the Philippine pavilion during Singapore's twin celebration of Global Community Day and World Parks' Day on September 24 and 25 .

PPUR raffle's grand prize winner to get P25M PDF Print E-mail

MANILA, Sept. 29 (PNA)-- Telecommunications giants Smart, Globe and Sun are jointly earmarking P25 million as grand raffle prize for the lucky texter who voted, through short messaging service, for inclusion of the Philippines' Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) in the list of winners of the New 7Wonders of Nature worldwide search.

”This is the private sector's support to government's campaign for PPUR to be among the world's new seven wonders,” Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Sec. Ramon Paje said Thursday during a briefing in Metro Manila.
