New technology introduced to reduce air pollution PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 27 September 2006

Mayor Edward Hagedorn introduced a new technology that promises reduced pollution emissions, especially from the numerous motorcycles roving the city streets of Puerto Princesa City.

In a press conference, Hagedorn presented before the Palawan Press Club (PPC) members the Retrofit Technology, a bolt-on direct-injection kit for carbureted two-stroke engines.

The city chief executive was accompanied by Ron Bills, chairman of Envirofit International Limited (EIL) and representatives from Poverty Environment Program of Asian Development (ADB).

The Envirofit is a non-profit organization that was awarded by Standford Social Innovation Review as one of the "10 Most Innovative Technology Companies" in the world in the invention of technology for reducing pollution.

Aside from reduced emission, Hagedorn said the technology decreases 35 percent of fuel consumption. (PNA)
