Friday, 24 November 2006

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Nov. 23 (PNA) -- Mayor Edward Hagedorn is making sure that the spirit of the yuletide season will bring forth blessings and prosperity to all his constituents and visitors in this city.

Hagedorn has lined up several activities from December 1 to 11, dubbed as “Pista Na, Pasko Pa!”.

Highlighting the celebration is the lighting of the giant Christmas tree and fireworks display that will be led by Hagedorn and his first lady, Ellen, on Dec. 1.

Thousands of residents will troop to Baywalk, the site of Christmas tree lighting and mostly sports activities.

The Baywalk, a boulevared patterned after Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental, was realized under the leadership of Hagedorn which was intended to revive Puerto Princesa’s glory as the “princess of the ports”.

Other activities are World AIDS Day program, Palarong Pinoy, Food Fest, Chess and Table Tennis tournament, holticulture park and garden show, lantern parade contest, sing-along contest, songwriting contest, job’s fair (local and overseas), passporting, Regatta (boat racing), search for little Ms. Puerto Princesa and Mayor Hagedorn Cup Body Building competition.
