Hagedorn pushes for creation of tourism hospital in 2008 PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 22 April 2007

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, April 20 (PNA)--Mayor Edward Hagedorn said he is still optimistic on the establishment of a medical tourism hospital that will provide health services to Puerto Princesans and tourists.

In a business forum, Hagedorn said that despite the re-alignment of P200 million budget for the construction world-class tourism hospital this hear, he will push for the realization of the modern 75-bed said hospital in 2008 to be equipped with the best equipment and facilities worth P300 million.

He said the tourism hospital which will be constructed in barangay Sta. Lourdes, would entice local and foreign retirees to relocate in the city.

Hagedorn foresees that medical tourism could generate enough revenue for the city as well for the country because a growing number of patients worldwide are traveling to get cheaper medical treatments here.

"The establishment of a tourism hospital is a long-time dream for Puerto Princesans to help boost tourism and earn revenues for the city government from dollar-paying foreigners," said Hagedorn. (PNA)
