Hagedorn determines to finish city’s coastal development project PDF Print E-mail

Mayor Edward HagedornPUERTO PRINCESA - Mayor Edward Hagedorn is determined to complete the development of multi-million coastal renewal project in a effort to revive the beauty and water quality of city’s bay.

”We will push this coastal project at the baywalk and revive the city’s old glory as the princess of the ports in the country”, Hagedorn told the PNA, referring to the Coastal Renewal Program which covers 317, 984 square meters of coastal shore from barangays Bagong Sikat to Tiniguiban here.

The reclaimed land will accommodate medium-rise residential buildings for informal settlers, including spaces for social amenities as well as areas for commercial development which will make the project financially viable.

Hagedorn said it needs additional P500 million for the completion of boardwalk and tenement housing projects that will provide decent housing for fisherfolks affected by the development.

He said it is also programmed to provide 3,000 families decent houses and legalize thBaywalke land tenure of the area they occupied through medium-rise housing project.

To date, Hagedorn has implemented 30 housing units with a total beneficiaries of almost 6,000.

It will also create more employment opportunities and encourage investments through the commercial and livelihood centers, he added. (PNA)
