Hagedorn pushes for e-powered Trikebayan PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 31 January 2008

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Jan. 30 (PNA) -- Mayor Edward Hagedorn is pushing for the utilization of electric-powered tricycles to reduce air and noise pollution, not only in Puerto Princesa, but also all over the country.

Hagedorn said that he promoted the use of Trikebayan (Tricycle ng Bayan) which does not emit any noise or carbon monoxide.

He said that the Trikebayan is environment-friendly and cheaper to operate with P48 a day compared to P200 daily for the gasoline-powered tricycle.

A known environmentalist, the mayor test-drive recently the Trikebayan’s prototype in Quezon City.

Aside from the e-powered tricycles, Hagedorn said he is also into promoting the direct in-cylinder (DI) fuel injection retrofit kits for two-stroke engines which is cleaner and more fuel efficient than the replacement four-stroke engines. (PNA)
