Puerto Princesa Sports Complex / Photo: puertoprincesa.phPUERTO PRINCESA CITY, April 25 (PNA)-- The city government is preparing for the scheduled visit of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo where she is expected to grace the closing ceremony of the Palarong Pambansa at the Ramon V. Mitra, Jr. Sports Complex, barangay Sta. Monica this city tomorrow.

”Definitely, President Arroyo will be coming here in Palawan”, Mayor Edward Hagedorn told mediamen, after being asked if the Chief Executive pushes through her visit in the island province.

Hagedorn said he could determine if the President could give her message to almost 15,000 athletes, coaches, teachers and guests during the Palaro closing rites this Saturday.

Reports have speculated that the President is being invited to be the guest speaker in Palawan closing rites following the cancellation of former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada’s trip here.

He confirmed that Arroyo will dive UNESCO-declared World Heritage World Tubbataha Reef, one of the world diving sites, but he added, he is still coordinating with the Presidential Management Staff (PMS) for the President’s itinerary.

Today, Arroyo will starts her two-day in Dumaguete City, capital of Negros Oriental for a series of governance activities and business opportunity.

Political leaders here are anticipating the visit of Arroyo where in streamers welcoming are being readied for his presence in the province.

Meanwhile, Tubbataha park manager Angelique Songco confirmed that they received an advise from the PMS confirming the plan of Macapagal Arroyo to dive in Tubbataha on Saturday.

Rep. Amelita Villarosa and Occidental Mindoro Governor Josephine Sato are being invited to accompany with the President aboard presidential yacht BRP Ang Pangulo during her diving activity at Tubbataha. (PNA)
