PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Aug. 20 (PNA) -- This city is nominated in this year’s 2008 National Literacy Awards of the Literacy Coordinating Council of the Department of Education (DepEd) in the category of Outstanding Local Government Unit.

Luz Asebuque, education supervisor of the Alternative Learning System of the city-DepEd, said the nomination is attributed to the good policies, programs and projects of Mayor Edward Hagedorn.
