City to hold investment forum

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan, Oct 11 (PIA) -- The city government is spearheading the Puerto Princesa City Investment Forum on October 18 in a bid to boost trade, commerce and investment in this city.

The city government is working in partnership with University of Asia and the Pacific’s Center for Research and Communication headed by Dr. Bernardo Villegas, its research director .

The forum will bring together several business leaders and heads of departments of the city government to exchange ideas on how to further enhance economic and investment opportunities in tourism and its infrastructure, agri-business, transportation, construction, among others.

The forum will also tackle and address the challenges to creating more jobs and livelihood opportunities in light of the city government’s initiative of people participation in the community-based sustainable tourism projects.

City Mayor Edward S. Hagedorn is expected to give the keynote address in the forum which will be held at the A&A Plaza Hotel this city.

The Palawan Chamber of Commerce and the Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce are strongly supporting the holding of this forum.

“We are looking forward to participating in this forum which will help further strengthen the relationship between the city government and the private sector as well as to determine what steps to take and what needs to be improved upon to enhance business and economic opportunities in this city,” said Rey Rafols, chairman of the Palawan Chamber of Commerce.
